The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, and the injured—including the driver, customers, and restaurant staff—were reported by authorities to be in a “stable” condition.
According to newspaper Ou Mun, the 60-year-old driver claimed he made a mistake by pressing the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. A breathalyzer test indicated that the driver had not consumed alcohol.
Meanwhile, the restaurant owner complained about the damages and the inability to continue operating the business in the near future due to the need for significant repairs. Authorities charged the driver with causing bodily harm through negligence, which carries a penalty of up to two years in prison.
