Sesame StreetThis American educational TV series debuted in 1969 and remains one of the world’s longest-running children's programs. Now in its 55th season, Sesame Street airs in over 120 countries and has won more than 200 Emmy Awards—more than any show in history. Blending animation, live actors, and puppets, the show takes place on a fictional urban street where characters engage in everyday life. Using short clips, songs, cartoons, and real-life videos from around the globe, the program fosters learning, basic academic skills, self-esteem, positive social interaction, and problem-solving. Sesame Street also weaves in mature humor to encourage parents to watch and learn with their children. Over the years, the show has hosted notable guests, including politicians, journalists, musicians, and actors.
