Exhibition Partnership & Vision
In collaboration with ARTICROSS curatorial management and under the patronage of the Macao SAR Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau, Sands China Ltd. presents two flagship exhibitions from July 29 to October 15:
- Special Exhibition “Dopamine: Fountain of Happiness” at The Venetian Macao
- Collateral Exhibition “Beyond the Frame: International Contemporary Masterpieces” at Sands Gallery, Grand Suites at Four Seasons
Anchored in the concept of “Art + City,” these exhibitions leverage The Venetian Macao’s iconic European architecture and the intimate setting of Sands Gallery at Four Seasons to celebrate Macau’s designation as the Culture City of East Asia 2025 and to engage the public with accessible, immersive art.
Artist Lineup & Intent
For “Dopamine: Fountain of Happiness,” Sands China has assembled nine international contemporary artists from Asia, Europe and the United States – Craig & Karl, Bibi Lei, GRAFFLEX, Hei Lok, Ilya Milstein, Jun Oson, Jonni Cheatwood, and Song Zhou – to reinterpret world-renowned Sesame Street characters such as Elmo, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie.
Fusing Roman mythology with dopamine art, the artists explore the vast possibilities of contemporary art by creating in their distinctive styles. The exhibition showcases a vibrant, colourful, myth-inspired art stage with an exclusive showcase of their world-premiere masterpieces specially crafted for Macao.
These nine international artists have reimagined Sesame Street’s timeless ethos and spirit through a dopamine-charged lens. Anchored in the curatorial concept of “Art + City,” the exhibition takes place at The Venetian Macao, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Through vivid colours, boundless imagination, and a new mode of interaction between art and public space, it conveys joy in vibrant hues, inviting visitors to wander through and naturally experience the happiness and emotional resonance that art can offer.

Sands China’s Art Macao Collateral Exhibition: “Beyond the Frame: International Contemporary Masterpieces” features six international artists breaking conventional frameworks through distinctive visual languages to forge new artistic frontiers.
“Beyond the Frame” Exhibition
Six of the artists—Zhou, Lei, Oson, GRAFFLEX, Cheatwood, and Milstein—converge again to present the Collateral Exhibition “Beyond the Frame: International Contemporary Masterpieces” at Sands Gallery at Grand Suites at Four Seasons.
They break conventional frameworks through distinctive visual languages, employing diverse avenues of expression such as painting, sculpture, installation art, and mixed media.
They are showcasing over 60 classic and new masterpieces, described as navigating freely between materiality, space, and cultural narratives, forging new artistic frontiers.
Art Talk & Community Engagement
On July 30, Sands China will host two Art Talk sessions at The Venetian Macao, featuring the exhibiting artists alongside local curators and creative leaders.
These forums will delve into cross-cultural influences, curatorial insights, and the role of interactive art in audience engagement—leveraging Art Macao’s platform to enrich Macau’s art scene.
Strategic Cultural Commitment
By leveraging its integrated resorts as art venues, Sands China underscores its dedication to cultural tourism and sustainable artistic development.
These exhibitions form part of a broader strategy to support Macau’s creative sector, enrich visitor experiences with world-class art, and position the city as a global hub for cultural exchange.
