According to the Financial Services Bureau, refunds will be issued either via bank transfer or by crossed cheque sent by mail. The initial batch of refunds will cover 98% of eligible taxpayers. Of these, 158,000 individuals (95.6%) will receive their refunds through bank transfer, while 1,600 (1%) will be sent a crossed cheque by post. An additional 2,300 people (1.4%) will have their refunds processed and disbursed by their respective public departments or organizations.
Bank transfers are expected to be completed by May 23rd, while crossed cheques are anticipated to be mailed out by early June. Taxpayers who do not receive their cheque within the expected timeframe, or whose cheque is lost or damaged, may apply for reissuance starting June 17th at any of the three Financial Services Bureau service locations in Macau.
