Legislative Assembly condemns actions of journalists expelled during Policy Address session

Macau’s Legislative Assembly on Tuesday condemned “the actions” of two journalists who were expelled and escorted out by police in April, stating that they had “disrupted the order” of sessions attended by members of the Government.

“The Legislative Assembly [AL] regrets and condemns the actions (…) of the journalists,” the SAR’s legislature said in a press release.

The journalists, from the online newspaper All About Macau (AAM), which also publishes a monthly print edition, were detained by police on the morning of 17 April as they attempted to enter the AL chamber to attend the presentation of the 2025 Policy Address by Secretary for Administration and Justice, André Cheong.
