The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is gearing up for the Chinese New Year with three major events: the Parade for Celebration of Chinese New Year, Chinese New Year Activities, and Fireworks Displays, as part of the “Happy Chinese New Year” program, a cultural exchange initiative by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Organized by MGTO with co-organizers including the Asia Tourism Exchange Center and various government departments, the Parade was introduced during a press conference attended by officials and representatives from supporting organizations. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes highlighted Macao’s dedication to showcasing its “tourism + events” strengths and fostering cultural harmony through these festive offerings.

17 Floats and Over 30 Performances Across Two Days

Themed around the Snake symbolizing wisdom and wealth, the Parade features 17 floats and 30+ troupes from across the globe. The 3rd-day parade starts at Sai Van Lake Square at 8 p.m., with performances along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Macao Science Center, and Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. The second parade on the 11th day will enliven the northern district, concluding with a finale show at Iao Hon Market Garden. Performances include local and international artists, such as Jeffrey Ngai and Hong Kong stars Owen Cheung and Amy Fan.

Warm-up performances begin at 5:30 p.m., with limited barrier-free seating for individuals with special needs.
