This year, Sands China reached the Exemplar level, the highest sustainability tier in the indices, an upgrade from its 2023 Pace-setter status.
The Exemplar designation highlights Sands China’s integration of socially responsible practices into its business model, making it a benchmark for other firms.

Launched in 2015, the CUHK Business Sustainability Indices evaluate companies on value, process, and impact, examining their vision, management, and influence on society, the environment, and stakeholders. Sands China’s 2024 rankings include:
- 5th Greater Bay Area Business Sustainability Index (GBABSI) – Top 5
- 2nd Global Asia-Pacific Business Sustainability Index (GAPBSI) – Ranked 6th
- 9th Hong Kong Business Sustainability Index (HKBSI) – Ranked 6th
- 4th Greater China Business Sustainability Index (GCBSI) – Ranked 6th
- 4th Hotel Business Sustainability Index (Hotel BSI) – Top 10
Additionally, Sands China received an ESG Special Mention in the Hang Seng Index category of the HKICPA Best Corporate Governance and ESG Awards 2024, recognizing its initiatives in waste reduction, water conservation, renewable energy, and sustainable tourism.
