The opening ceremony of this year’s edition of CIFAM will also take place next Saturday (the 14th), followed by the first displays of the event, by fireworks companies from Canada and Thailand.
The two firework shows in Russia and France, which had previously been postponed due to the weather, have been moved to next Sunday evening (the 15th).
The two nights of firework displays will have the same time slot: 9pm and 9.40pm, each lasting around 18 minutes. Residents and visitors are invited to take part and feel the festive atmosphere of the “double anniversary”.
The Fireworks Festival, an emblematic event that complements CIFAM, is also set to meet the public. On September 14 and 15, between 17:00 and 23:00, the fireworks display will take place in the area in front of the Macao Science Center, enriching the festive atmosphere of CIFAM.
Five best spots to watch fireworks
Residents and visitors can watch the displays at the five best fireworks viewing points, which feature sound installations, to enjoy a lively evening: at Anim’Arte Nam Van, on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen from the Kun Iam Ecumenical Center to the Kun Iam Statue Marginal Leisure Zone, on Avenida de Sagres (next to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Macau), on the Macau Science Center riverside promenade, and on Avenida do Oceano, in Taipa.
Live broadcast of the exhibitions on various channels
To make it easier for the public to enjoy CIFAM from various locations, Radio Macau’s Chinese channel (FM100.7) will broadcast the music that serves as the backdrop to the fireworks shows in real time at 9pm and 9.40pm each night, and Chinese TV channels TDM Ou Mun, TDM Entertainment, TDM-Macau Satellite, TDM’s website and mobile app will broadcast the shows live.
Transit measures and contingency plan in the event of a typhoon
During CIFAM’s exhibitions, drivers and pedestrians are asked to pay attention to the provisional road traffic and conditioning measures in the parking spaces with parking meters and for motorcycles on Rua da Torre de Macau, Praça do Lago Sai Van, Rua do Lago Sai Van, Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Sai Van, Rua do Dr. Lourenço Pereira Marques, and on Avenida do Oceano and Avenida dos Jardins do Oceano da Taipa, next to the Oceano Gardens.
As CIFAM takes place during typhoon season in Macau, through an interdepartmental mechanism, MGTO closely monitors the specific weather forecast provided by the Meteorological and Geophysical Services Bureau in order to assess in real time the impact on safety of holding the shows, and the possible need to implement the planned action plan in the event of bad weather and a typhoon.
If there are any changes to the event program, the public will be informed as soon as possible.
