With the latest upgrades, the Chimelong Theatre now boasts a 270° panoramic circular stage, three circular waterways and a 250-metre 360° aerial suspended circular track, which provide great possibilities for a variety of water, land and air effects.
The Opening Ceremony combined acrobatics, dance, burlesque, magic, extreme sports and other forms of art, allowing the audience to experience the artistic styles and concepts from different countries and regions.
An important feature of this year’s Circus Festival is the emphasis on traditional Chinese culture and cultural confidence. As the host of the festival, Chinese circus artists incorporated elements of local traditional culture, such as Peking Opera and acrobatics, into their performances, creating a unique performance style that vividly demonstrated the Chinese nation’s outstanding traditional culture and spirit of innovation.
The festival is organised by the Guangdong Provincial Government and co-hosted by the Hengqin Co-operation Zone Executive Committee, the Zhuhai Municipal Government and the Guangdong Chimelong.
