Brussels shooting suspect killed by police

The agents "opened fire" when detaining the man. The suspect is of Tunisian origin and lived illegally in Belgium.

The suspect in the death of two Swedish citizens in Brussels on Monday was shot dead by police and the weapon believed to have been used by the attacker was recovered, Belgian Interior Minister Annelies Verlinden said this Tuesday.

The Belgian minister told VRT radio: “we have good news, we found the man”.

Earlier, a spokesperson for the Belgian Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that police had “neutralized” a man suspected of killing two Swedish citizens in an attack in Brussels on Monday night.
