The list on the Transfermarkt website, which specialises in market issues, contains some very interesting names in world football – and until recently they were competing on the biggest European stages.
First and foremost De Gea: after 12 years as the undisputed first-choice keeper at Manchester United, the 32-year-old Spanish international did not have his contract renewed by the Red Devils and remains without a club – he was even linked with Real Madrid after Courtois’ injury, but the Whites ended up securing Kepa’s loan from Chelsea.
