Over the weekend, crowd control measures were implemented around the Ruins of St. Paul’s, marking the first instance of such measures being taken since the easing of pandemic-related restrictions.
Preliminary statistics indicate that the total number of inbound tourists from January to July this year was approximately 14.42 million, with a daily average of 68,000. This has recovered to 63% of the total for the entire year of 2019.
The hotel industry’s occupancy rate has also rapidly risen, with an average rate of 83% from January to July. This is a 7.8 percentage point decrease from the same period in 2019, when the rate was 90.8%.
