Kiev confirms drone attack on one of Russia’s biggest oil tankers

Ukraine attacked this Saturday one of the largest and most important Russian oil tankers in the Kerch Strait, a source from the Ukrainian security services (SBU) told AFP, a day after an attack against a ship also from Russia but in the Black Sea.

“During the night, the SBU blew up the ‘SIG’, an important tanker of the Russian Federation that was transporting fuel for the Russian soldiers”, said the source, adding that it had carried out “another successful special operation in coordination with the Navy”.

The attack, which followed another attack on a warship at a Russian military base in the Black Sea, heightens tension in the region between Russians and Ukrainians.
