The NFL, professional American football, is mourning the death of Ryan Mallett last Tuesday at the age of 35. The former quarterback, according to available information, drowned on a beach in Destin. Despite being rescued by lifeguards, resuscitation maneuvers had no effect.
Mallett was selected in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft by the New England Patriots, where he was in the shadow of Tom Brady. He was later transferred to the Houston Texans and also spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, where he ended his career in 2017.
“Ryan was a part of us,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a team Twitter post.
