Child fighting cancer attacked in Ajaccio-Marseille

The last day of Ligue 1, on Saturday, was marked by a barbaric episode that has already led to a reaction from the country’s president, Emmanuel Macron, after Kenzo, an eight-year-old child who is fighting brain cancer, was attacked, together with her parents, in a dressing room at the Ajaccio stadium, which hosted Marseille.

The young Marseille fan, invited by various charitable institutions to watch the team’s last match this season, was attacked by “three or four people”, according to his father’s testimony, who have yet to be identified.

“When the father entered the locker room, he wore a Marseille jersey. This act will have provoked the anger of the Ajaccio supporters. Everything happened very quickly, with Ajaccio fans invading the dressing room where the family was, invited by charities. The blows were directed directly at the father. The youngest son was injured and hit his head on a dressing room railing. The mother was also pushed. Security intervened very quickly to get the family to safety and prevent the attacks from happening again,” explained Nicolas Septe, public prosecutor of Ajaccio, to BFMTV.

The episode was quickly condemned by the whole of France, with the president of Ajaccio, Alain Orsoni, confirming to the newspaper “Le Parisien” that the club intends to file a complaint with the authorities, stressing its desire to identify the perpetrators of the aggression, who will be banned .
