The calculations are made and the balance is positive, very positive indeed: 491,968 tourists visited Macau in the five days associated with the Golden Week of Labor Day, from Saturday, April 29th, until yesterday, May 3rd.
The daily average was close to 100,000 visitors (98,393), and was well above the best forecasts of the director of local Tourism. Looking ahead to this week, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes had said it would be good if Macau received 70,000 visitors a day.
The peak was reached on Sunday, the 30th, when 133,911 visitors arrived in Macao, a number that is at the level of the best daily records ever, not only in the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
According to the balance in numbers, released early this morning by the Public Security Police Corps, the total movement of entries and exits at all border posts, in these five days, was 2,652,073 people.
