Afghan killed social workers in Lisbon after mysterious phone call

Homicida had three children and lived in Portugal. Before the crimes, he received a call that made him very nervous.

Abdul Bashir, a 34-year-old Afghan refugee, killed two social workers at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon this Tuesday. The suspect, who complained about life in Portugal and wanted to leave the country, had just received a phone call, around 11 am, when he attacked the victims with a large knife. At the time, integration classes for Afghan refugees and immigrants were taking place at the institution of the Muslim community in Portugal, on Avenida Lusíada, in Lisbon.

The victims, Farana Sadrudin, aged around 40, and Mariana Jadaugy, in her 20s, were Portuguese of Indian descent. They died right there, in the corridor of the classrooms of the Ismaili Center, where they helped the Afghans to integrate.
