Ministers of the Federal Supreme Court and the Superior Court of Justice heard by BandNews FM columnist Mônica Bergamo say they believe that former president Jair Bolsonaro will be declared ineligible by the Superior Electoral Court, but the politician’s arrest is considered “impossible” in the short term .
Earlier this week, in an interview with the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Bolsonaro, who has been in the United States since January 30, said he would return to Brazil in March and raised the possibility of being arrested.
The magistrates heard by the journalist consider that the actions in the common Justice are time-consuming and that the final decision is not feasible, at least, in the next four years.
“Practically impossible”, say the ministers of the Superior Courts about a possible arrest, but they point out that if Jair Bolsonaro is caught trying to obstruct investigations or destroying evidence of ongoing processes, an arrest is more possible.
