Local sports authorities are preparing to celebrate the 70th edition of the Macau Grand Prix with a double weekend of races.
According to the Sports Bureau president, Pun Weng Kun, contacts are being made to ensure the return of several major international races to the Guia Circuit.
Pun is also keen on the return of the FIA Formula 3 World Cup to Macau, a signature race that has been suspended since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sports Bureau president also said that “positive responses” were received from overseas racers wanting to compete in the FIA GT World Cup.
The double-weekend Grande Prix also aims to attract more tourists allowing for an extended stay.
