The Chief Executive, was present at the spring dinner hosted yesterday by the Macau Commercial Association (ACM).
Ho Iat Seng acknowledged that over the past three years, the volatility of the epidemic has had severe impacts on Macau’s economy, and encouraged the Association to strengthen its functions – which he described as indispensable – in Macau’s industrial and business communities and society, and play an increasingly decisive role in creating a new environment of “one country, two systems” with Macau characteristics.

Ho Iat Seng said he hopes the Macau Business Association will continue to unite and lead these sectors in supporting and cooperating with the Government in implementing policies and measures, seizing opportunities arising from development, and proactively participating in the construction of the Greater Bay and the Guangdong-Macao Deepening Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, jointly contributing to the proper diversification of the “1+4” principle.
It also hopes that the Association’s members will “seize the opportunities generated by the post-epidemic economic recovery.” He stressed that the resumption of normalization of people’s travel between Macau and Mainland China and a new round of investment and development plans of gaming concessionaires are being promoted in an orderly manner, which will inject new impetus into the development of all sectors.

Ho Iat Seng called on ACM representatives to provide good service in welcoming customers, continuously optimize and innovate tourism projects, consolidate and improve service quality, and focus on exploring the market of high-quality tourism sources, so as to jointly promote the recovery and diversified development of the tourism and leisure industry.
He also said that it should properly manage employer and employee relations and play its important role in stabilizing employment, making further contributions to the stability and social unity of Macao.
The Chief Executive also stressed that this third year of the implementation of the Second Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan of the Macao SAR is a crucial year.
