Travellers travelling from Macau to Portugal are exempted from covid-19 examination
Last Friday, Portugal joined a growing group of countries requiring people coming from China to show a negative test result for covid-19.
The Health Ministry communication did not specify whether the measure would apply to people from the special administrative regions. HM contacted the Consulate General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong to clarify whether those travelling from the SAR are included in the measure.
“The restrictions applied by Portugal to passengers from China only apply in the case of direct flights. From the information we have, at the moment, there are no direct flights between Macau and Portugal so this will not apply,” the consulate said following clarification obtained from “the competent authorities.
