World champions greeted in Argentina by crowd of supporters

Argentina’s national football team, which won the World Cup in Qatar by defeating France, arrived home this Tuesday, where it was welcomed by a crowd of supporters.
At 2:23 am (5:23 am in mainland Portugal), Aerolíneas Argentinas flight AR1915, which was carrying the delegation led by the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, and the Albiceleste coach, Lionel Scaloni, landed at the International Airport of Ezeiza, in the province of Buenos Aires.
Team members smiled as they stepped off the plane onto a red carpet. Messi was the first player out, alongside coach Lionel Scaloni, who put his arm around the captain as they walked past a sign that read: “Thank you champions”.
