Shanghai Cooperation Organization brings together prime ministers. Beijing introduces new measures

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday presided over the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States in Beijing, where he presented a five-point proposal on the promotion of SCO cooperation

The Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of India and Pakistan and representatives of the observer states of OCS participated in the meeting, which was held by videoconference.

At the opening, Li Keqiang said that “the SCO has made important contributions to the peace and stability of the region and to the development and prosperity of regional countries”, adding that, at the meeting held in Samarkand last September, “new common understandings on the development of the SCO”.
