‘James Bond’ car up for auction for nearly £3m

A replica of the Aston Martin DB5 used in the stunts of the ‘James Bond’ movie ‘No Time to Die’ sold for nearly £3 million at a charity auction on Wednesday.

The auction, organized by Christie’s to commemorate 60 years of James Bond in film, raised £6,103,500 ($6,631,453) for 25 lots, according to the character’s official Twitter account, @007. The money will go to 45 associations, including the Prince Charles foundation (before he became king) and Doctors Without Borders.

Sold for 2,922 million pounds sterling (3,175 million dollars), the replica of the DB5, the emblematic model of “agent 007”, is one of eight examples designed and manufactured for the feature film made in 2021, and the only stunt car placed on sale so far by Aston Martin and EON Productions, according to Christie’s.

Another Aston Martin, a V8 model from the early 1980s that also appears in No Time to Die, sold for £630,000.

Among the objects sold, there were costumes and accessories related to the famous saga. Another 35 lots are up for auction online from September 15th to October 5th.
