Apple presents 4 new iPhones and watch that detects ovulation cycles

Apple yesterday launched the new models of ‘smartphones’, earphones and digital watches, with the Pro line of the Iphone 14 revealing the biggest changes, with a ‘notch’ (where the front camera is located) and an A16 processor.

At an event at its headquarters in Cupertino, in the US state of California, the company led by Tim Cook presented the new devices at 18:00 (Lisbon time), with live transmission on Apple’s website, as also on YouTube and Apple TV.

At the “Apple Event”, the tech giant showcased its new ‘smartphone’ iPhone 14, which has an aesthetic very similar to the 2021 model, with the A15 Bionic chip, an improvement in image capture quality and a larger screen on the Plus case.

Apple showed the new ‘smartphones’ in black, white, blue, purple and red, but with a notch similar to last year’s model.

The new iPhone will be available in a 6.1-inch version and a larger version, the 6.7-inch Plus, starting at prices of 1,039 euros and 1,189 euros, respectively, in the 128-gigabyte models.

The iPhone 14 models feature an OLED display, with an advanced dual camera system – 12 megapixel main and ultra wide-angle – and a TrueDepth front camera with autofocus.

The lower range iPhone will hit the market on September 16th, while the Plus only on October 7th.

In the case of the high-end versions, the 14 Pro (starting at 1,348 euros) and 14 Pro Max (starting with the price of 1,499 euros), a camera with a 48 megapixel sensor is added, in addition to an ultra wide angle. , telephoto and a TrueDepth front camera with autofocus.

The screen features Super Retina XDR technology and ProMotion technology.

All Pro models of the new ‘smartphone’ have the A16 Bionic processor and increased battery life, with increased autonomy, which can last a day.

iPhones 14 Pro will be available from September 16.

One of the novelties is that the new ‘smartphones’ will be able to send SOS alerts by satellite and detect road accidents.

Apple also introduced its new smartwatch model, Apple Watch Series 8, which, among other things, uses a temperature sensor to detect ovulation cycles in women.

Apple has ensured that the ovulation cycle prediction data is encrypted, being safe on the device, and only accessible through a password or biometric identification.

The new watch also has a larger screen than the previous one, thinner bezels and resistance to water, dust and possible breakage.

Apple Watch Series 8 also detects road accidents and automatically alerts emergency services.

Available in stores on September 16, the new watch has a battery life of 18 hours or 36 hours in low battery mode, costing €509.

In conjunction with the model eight, the company announced a next-generation watch, the Apple Watch Ultra, with an even larger screen and a price tag of 1,009 euros, designed especially for outdoor sports such as mountaineering, running and diving.

In turn, the simple Watch SE model has also been updated, incorporates the accident detection function, is 20% faster and has a minimum price of 309 euros.
