Gin is a distillate made from a fermented grain or potato in which various odors are impregnated. Among these is always juniper, the plant from which the drink takes its name.
Within the beverage industry, gin is primarily associated with the consumption of classic drinks such as Gin Tonic or Gin Fizz, but its use is included in an ever-evolving series of cocktails. The success of this distillate is such that in 2012 Gin Day was established, an Italian event created to celebrate its history and promote its development.

How many types of gin are there?
There are officially four types of gin classified by the European Union: gin, distilled gin, London Dry Gin and Juniper-Flavoured Spirits.
Gin is made by simply adding natural flavoring substances (botanicals) to a neutral spirit of agricultural origin with an alcohol content of at least 96°. The resulting product must maintain an alcohol content of more than 37.5°.
