FC Porto beats Benfica and becomes field hockey national champion
Gonçalo Alves, with two goals, was decisive in FC Porto’s victory over Benfica in the fifth and decisive game of the playoff final of the roller field hockey national championship, allowing the Dragons to seal another championship title.After both teams had won their previous home matches, in this final, FC Porto once again made the home advantage count, in a packed Dragão Arena, and won 3-2.
Twice FC Porto was in the lead, with goals by Gonçalo Alves at 2 minutes and Carlo di Benedetto at 17′, but Benfica responded by Manrubia (5′) and Pablo Álvarez (44′).
