The mother, of Moldovan origin, entered the hospital “in critical condition”, but without the child, and the grandfather confessed to the PSP and firefighters to have been he put the baby in the trash. The PSP went to the scene and found the baby still with signs of life, found JN.
In Casal da Barôta, in Sintra, this Monday morning, the atmosphere was of “great surprise”. Neighbors saw the woman who gave birth entering an ambulance at 10 pm on Sunday and, shortly after, “a large police apparatus”, but never suspected what had happened. “We thought it might be domestic violence,” two neighbors told JN.
