The total number of tickets sold for matches at the Qatar 2022 Football World Cup has already reached 1.2 million, after the second marketing phase, announced this Wednesday, the secretary general of the organizing committee of the competition, Hassan Al- Thawadi.
“I think this is a record demand. People buy and want to come, no doubt. We will try to create an environment that brings economic benefits, but is also accessible to fans, a balance that is not easy”, said the official, at an event in Doha.
Since the beginning of the ticket sales process, around 40 million requests have been registered, leaving now two million tickets available for the third sales phase, in addition to one million destined for FIFA, other entities and sponsors.
