The Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, is making an official visit to Guinea Bissau between 19 and 20 December, the office of the head of the Guinean government, Nuno Gomes Nabiam, announced on Wednesday in a note published on social networks.
The announcement was made after a working meeting between Nuno Gomes Nabiam’s cabinet team and a Portuguese delegation, which arrived this Tuesday in Bissau to prepare the visit with the Guinean authorities.
According to the provisional programme sent to Lusa, during his stay in Bissau, António Costa will meet his Guinean counterpart, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, as well as the President of the Parliament, Cipriano Cassamá.
The programme also includes the signing of the Strategic Cooperation Programme between the two countries and a visit to a Portuguese cooperation project.
António Costa’s visit to the country follows the official visit to Portugal by Guinean President Umaro Sissoco Embaló in October.
