Zimbabwe offers to help Mozambique in the fight against terrorists in Cabo Delgado

The President of Zimbabwe said that the country is ready to help Mozambique fight terrorist attacks in the north of the neighboring country, arguing that security should be a priority for the region

“Zimbabwe is ready to help in any way we can, the security of our region is the top priority in protecting our people,” wrote Emmerson Mnangagwa, on the social network Twitter, adding that “acts of barbarity must be eliminated where wants them to be found. ”

The comment by the President of Zimbabwe, which borders Mozambique, comes after several reports of acts of violence committed in recent days in Cabo Delgado and the same day that the Minister of Defense said that Mozambique was asking for help from several countries, after the Southern African Development Community (SADC) failed to formulate a proposal on how to fight the insurgency.

“We are seeing Mozambique now approaching countries like the United States and France for assistance,” said the minister, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, in statements to the state newspaper Herald, quoted by the financial information agency Bloomberg.
