The subdural or intracranial hematoma was detected through exams performed on the Argentine star in the last hours. Diego Maradona turned 60 just three days ago
Diego Maradona will have a brain operation in the next few hours, says the Argentine newspaper Clarín. The medical team that subjected him to tests in the last hours detected that the Argentine star has a subdural hematoma. It is an intracranial hematoma formed when a trauma causes clots in a region of the brain.
According to Clarín, Maradona will be transferred and the surgical intervention will take place as soon as possible, in the next few hours, at the Sanatorium Fleni. The diagnosis is the same as that of Argentine Vice President Cristina Kirchner, who was also operated on the brain in 2014.
Also in the case of Diego Maradona, his subdural hematoma was caused by a head injury caused by a blow to the head that suffered, either recently or longer. “It may have been a month or five years ago, we don’t know,” say the doctors.
