Chan Tong-kai, a Hong Kong man suspected of killing his girlfriend in Taiwan, said that he would ask a lawyer to arrange to surrender to Taiwan.
The Reverend Canon Peter Douglas Koon who assisted Chan Tong-kai , sent a recording of Chen Tongjia to the media. It was about 23 seconds long. In the recording, Chen Tongjia apologized again to the parents of his girlfriend and said that he had not changed his thoughts of returning to Taiwan. A lawyer will be asked to arrange to return to Taiwan to surrender.
Peter Koon stated that Chan Tong-kai had notified Taiwan’s representative lawyer to contact relevant departments to handle his surrender arrangements, and hoped to take place within this month (October).
The case occurred in 2018. Chan Tong-kai was also involved in the crime of money laundering. It has been nearly a year since he was released from prison after serving his sentence.
