A year ago, Hong Kong was experiencing one of the most violent days in that Special Administrative Region of China. As today, People’s Republic of China Day was celebrated and thousands took to the streets.
This year, Hong Kong officials banned demonstrations. Still, the police will mobilize, with at least 3,000 police available in the event of a demonstration, said a police source, who requested anonymity, from the French agency France-Presse.
