Bill Gates says he is “optimistic”: the Covid-19 pandemic could end in 2022

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has donated more than 551 million euros to help the poorest countries have access to a future vaccine against Covid-19.

Bill Gates says he is “optimistic” that the Covid-19 pandemic “will not last indefinitely” and estimates that even the new coronavirus may disappear in 2022.

In an interview with Fox News, the Microsoft co-founder said it was likely that a vaccine would be approved in early 2021 – or even “three or four effective formulas” – so “next summer the United States will begin to return to normal.”

“At the end of next year, our activities may be moderately normal”, that is to say, if the poorest countries are supported in fighting the disease.
