China has reached 20 consecutive days today without registering local cases of covid-19, since the 10 new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours are all from abroad, the authorities said.
The China Health Commission detailed that imported cases were diagnosed in the cities of Shanghai, Tianjin and in the provinces of Guangzhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Fujian.
The authorities also informed that, in the last 24 hours, 21 patients were discharged, so the number of infected people active in the Asian country was fixed in 194, including two in a condition considered serious.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, China has registered 85,112 infected and 4,634 dead due to covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed at least 869,718 deaths and infected more than 26.3 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
After Europe succeeded China as the center of the pandemic in February, the American continent is now the one with the most confirmed cases and the most deaths.
