IAEA with access to sites suspected of nuclear activity in Iran

Iran has accepted this week that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a UN entity, has access to two alleged Iranian nuclear facilities.

Tehran’s green light comes amid tensions stemming from the United States’ attempt to re-impose UN sanctions on the Islamic Republic. On Tuesday, the United Nations Security Council blocked Washington’s initiative.

“Iran voluntarily grants the IAEA access to two locations that the agency claimed,” the IAEA and the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency (AEAI) reported in a joint statement, which is unusual.
