Joe Biden accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination as a presidential candidate to face Donald Trump in the November elections, promising to overcome “the season of darkness” in the United States, at the end of the virtual convention marked by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I accept this nomination to be the president of the United States,” said the former vice president of the government of Barack Obama.
Biden spoke from Wilmington, Delaware, after Democrats were forced to change the convention to a virtual format.
