Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro said he was deeply saddened by an explosion on Tuesday in the port of Beirut that killed at least 70 people and injured more than 3,700 people.
“Deeply saddened by scenes of explosion in Beirut. Brazil is home to a large community of Lebanese in the world and, therefore, we feel this tragedy as if it were in our territory. I express my solidarity with the families of the fatal victims and the wounded ”, wrote Jair Bolsonaro.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil also recorded in a note that “it is attentively handling the incident” and indicated that “there is no Brazilian news so far dead or seriously injured”.
