The United States for the first time crossed the barrier of 70,000 cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of contagions in the country to more than 3.49 million, said Johns Hopkins University.
According to figures recorded by the North American University, based in Baltimore (east), until 20:00 on Wednesday (01:00 today in Lisbon), the US health authorities registered 74,513 new infections, in addition to 803 dead, increasing to 137,235 deaths since the epidemic began in the country.
