The world-renowned Canadian contemporary circus company Cirque du Soleil will bring its spectacular show “Ovo” to Porto for the very first time this coming January. The highly anticipated theatrical production is scheduled to run from January 6 to January 10, 2027, at the iconic Pavilhão Rosa Mota, currently known as the Super Bock Arena.

The official announcement was made today by the event promoter, Everything is New, which expressed great excitement about hosting the legendary performing arts group in Portugal’s northern capital.

“Ovo” is described as a vibrant, high-energy celebration of life and biodiversity that plunges the audience directly into a colorful hidden ecosystem. The performance breathes life into a bustling universe of insects, utilizing jaw-dropping acrobatics, infectious humor, and stunning visual aesthetics to captivate theatergoers.

According to the production company, the show was originally created in 2009 and has since toured extensively across more than 40 countries, successfully performing for over seven million spectators worldwide.

The show arrives in the city of Porto boasting an entirely refreshed live touring format that features 53 elite artists performing simultaneously on stage. This updated version of the production includes redesigned costumes, brand-new characters, never-before-seen acrobatic acts, and a completely reinvented musical soundtrack.

These creative adjustments aim to make the fascinating insect world even more immersive, thrilling, and emotionally engaging for audiences of all ages, from young children to adults.

Fans looking to secure their seats for this strictly limited theatrical run will not have to wait long to purchase tickets.

Admission prices for the Porto performances will range between 45 and 120 euros, depending on the chosen seating section inside the arena. Tickets are officially scheduled to go on sale to the general public starting at 10:00 AM this coming Thursday through standard box offices and authorized digital ticketing platforms.
