Continuing teacher education is enshrined in the Statute of the Teaching Career (ECD) and, until about a decade ago, it allowed teachers to do free training in didactic, pedagogical or other areas relevant to teaching.
The educational use of the Internet, basic digital literacy in the main tools and digital platforms, of what would come to be called distance learning (DE), the bases of robotics, among other areas related to the new information and digital communication technologies and the widespread use of personal computers, quickly led to the multiplication of continuous training actions, all over the country.
