Armando Dias, of the PAIGC central committee, detained today in Bissau

The member of the central committee of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC) Armando Correia Dias was arrested today in Bissau, a source from that political background in Guinea-Bissau told Lusa.

Armando Correia Dias, also a Guinean businessman and known as N’Dinho, was arrested while traveling in a vehicle, as a passenger, where two more people followed, explained the same source. According to the source, Armando Correia Dias is being held at the second police station in Bissau.

In a message posted on the social network Facebook, PAIGC asks whether the “international community is an accomplice or sponsor of kidnappings and torture”. “The businessman Armando Correia Dias can be murdered if something is not done to prevent an announced tragedy. Let us all be vigilant”, adds the message.
