Spanish justice on Friday rejected Brazilian striker Neymar’s claim against Barcelona to demand payment of 43.6 million euros for a renewal bonus before his abrupt departure for PSG, ordering the athlete to pay EUR 6, 79 million for ‘breach of contract’.
Upon terminating his contract prematurely, Neymar “not only did not have the right to receive the amount he claims, but he must reimburse the club the excess he received as a ‘singing bonus’, for terminating the employment contract ahead of time without justified cause ”, says the sentence of a Barcelona court.
