Until March 2021 it will not be possible to know whether the Tokyo Games will take place or not. This is the opinion of Toshiaki Endo, vice president of the Organizing Committee for the Olympics. For him, the uncertainties caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus do not allow that any decisions regarding the realization or not of the event are taken before spring in the Northern Hemisphere. For the first time, an executive of the Committee talks about a deadline for such a definition.
“It is necessary to monitor the situation of the new coronavirus until next spring before deciding whether to proceed with the Summer Olympics,” said Endo.
