The Council of Ministers yesterday approved, in Luanda, a legal diploma that declares the Situation of Public Disaster and establishes the measures to be in force from 00:00 on 26 May.
During its 4th Extraordinary Session, held in the Salão Nobre of the Presidential Palace, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the diploma with a view to preventing and controlling the spread of the SARS-CoV2 virus and the disease of Covid-19, which will allow the gradual process of returning to social normality.
In the final statement of the meeting, distributed to the press, the Executive considers that the risk of contagion is still high. Hence, despite this, the Government cannot neglect the serious economic consequences that result from the paralysis of social life and the affect of fundamental rights.
