EU suspends delivery of Chinese-made masks for quality reasons

The decision comes after Poland received 600,000 masks that did not meet medical standards or had a European certificate.

The European Commission today announced the suspension of the delivery of 10 million Chinese-made personal protective masks to Member States and the United Kingdom, after two countries complained about the poor quality of the equipment. As part of efforts to face the crisis of the new coronavirus, the community executive started this month to send lots of individual protection masks to healthcare professionals across Europe. Poland’s Minister of Health, Lukasz Szumowski, reported that the 600,000 masks received by the authorities Poles did not have European certificates and did not meet the medical standards required for their distribution.
