The Minister of Health of Brazil declared that the decreed rule did not pass through tutelage and was decided unilaterally by Jair Bolsonaro.
The Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, included, this Monday, the gyms and sports academies “of all modalities”, beauty salons and barber shops in the list of services considered essential to function in Brazil during the pandemic of Covid-19.
In the decree published in the Official Gazette of the Union, Jair Bolsonaro indicated that these activities can work during the pandemic if the Ministry of Health’s orders are obeyed. However, the Brazilian Minister of Health, Nelson Teich, declared to the press that he was not aware of the norm decreed by the head of state.
