While Covid-19 monopolizes global attention, a forgotten epidemic continues to kill in one of the most unstable regions on the African continent. The Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo was officially declared in August 2018 and has since left 2,266 people dead among 3,311 infected.
