Australia wants Facebook and Google to pay news to the media

A mandatory code of conduct will be created, which should cover issues such as data exchange, classification and news views, payment and exchange of generated revenues, Australian Treasure Minister Josh Frydember said in a statement.

The conduct code, whose elaboration is in charge of the Australian Commission for Competence and Consumption, will establish measures related to compliance, sanctions, as well as dispute resolution mechanisms, according to the same press note, also signed by the Minister of Communications, Paul Fletcher.
